For many years I was urged to run an independent school by friends, students and colleagues. After much reflection, I chose a path of independence from those who have instructed me towards a new level of success both as a martial artist and as a person.
My role as Sensei is something that I take very seriously and hold dear. It is my calling and I am grateful to all those who have contributed to my growth, both instructors and students. Teaching is the sustenance of my happiness.
My vision is to provide an academy of learning; a place to provide growth for students and instructors in a martial arts sense and in a personal sense. Steiner Academy of Martial Arts is a place to become a better martial artist and better citizen of the world. Martial arts is a vehicle by which we grow; it is not to be taken lightly. It must be pursued with vigor and commitment.
May our journey together be exciting, fruitful and fun. I am thankful to my students: future, current and past. Without them I would not be able to pursue my dreams. I strive to return to my students all that they have given me.
In closing, be true, be diligent and be a shining example of martial arts study. You are able to become better than you can currently imagine if you are willing to do the work.
Sincerely,
