Steiner Academy of Martial Arts is a place to become a better martial artist and a better citizen of the world. Our martial arts classes are for men, women, and children of all ages. We are located in Omaha, NE and specialize in Shaolin Kempo Karate, Brazilian Ju Jitsu, Pressure Points, SubLevel Kenpo™ and Sparring.
Although Shaolin Kempo is our primary form of Karate practiced at Steiner Academy, we incorporate and offer training in a variety of styles to help our students become well-rounded martial artists.
The Steiner Academy of Martial Arts focuses on training the student more than just self defense.
You will learn more than just the mechanics of the technique. You will understand why, how, and when to use it. The physical training helps you focus more on your limits and how to exceed them. The martial art tradition is very special to the Academy. The lineage of instruction is amazing. I attend classes knowing I will be sore the next day, but, over time, I lost weight and became physically tougher. I have learned better ways to focus, not only in class or in training, but also in life. The people at the Academy, students and facility, make you feel welcome. It doesn’t matter if you are a beginner or a black belt, you are accepted with open arms and treated evenly. I highly recommend this training Academy to anyone.

Make a Change
Don’t take our word for it. Here is what our students have to say about our classes.
Sensei Steiner is a superior teacher.
I joined Steiner Academy of Martial Arts in April. Being a 36 year old female with very little athletic ability, I was apprehensive about joining a martial arts program. When I called, I was assured that I would be able to learn. I visited for one session and decided to join.
It was one of the best things I have ever done for myself. I have learned many lessons about self defense, but the lessons I have learned about surpassing my expectations of myself have been greater in number and in scope. Sensei Steiner and the other instructors have been there for me every step of the way.
Steiner Academy of Martial Arts has not only changed my view of myself, but it has also made me a more confident person. Sensei Steiner’s teachings have enabled me to go above and beyond what I believed were my limitations. My intentions were to learn more about self defense. What I have received in return is a better way of life. Come to the dojo, and you will see what I mean.
Best place in town to study Multiple Martial Arts!
Steiner Academy of Martial Arts is THE place to go! I got brought up there by my friend that just wanted to try it out. My friend stopped pursuing it after a few belts, but I studied for 2 years and became a blue belt! I am SO glad I did. I learned so much about being more humble, calm and exponentially stronger as a person physically and mentally!
Shawn Steiner and his instructors teach you the art of Shaolin Kempo Karate, while also cross training you in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, Kyuosho Jitsu, (Pressure Points) and a side class with Sub-Level Kempo Karate. They also teach more focused classes on Sparring, and Grappling. It’s not just for adults either, the KIDS class they teach is amazing! I’ve seen them have nothing but fun, and they also have kids events like pizza party’s every so often as well.
By learning all of this you all together have the potential of being a much more rounded martial artists and you are prepared for any situation that could happen to you anywhere; whether it is someone holding you at gunpoint, attacking you with a club, knife, etc. They put you in situations so you can practice and polish what you’ve learned in a full-contact environment with other students so that you get a more realistic idea of how it will be when you get attacked in person, and you can practice and polish your skills.
I highly recommend going here over every other place in town, and for the price you get for studying martial arts here, it’s the best system I’ve heard of and you will feel you are UNDERpaying for the teaching you get here! Shawn is a fantastic instructor, and a great person in general you can always talk to him about anything, and he is always willing to help!
As a mother of children in this school and a student here, I appreciate the value of life lessons, hard work and natural consequences that are taught in these classes.”
